One of Brighton’s leading firebrands and post punk outfit Pope Joan have been chosen to be one of the first acts to offer the all new Music2Text service to their fans. Having just released their new single 'Dictator’ (Furious Recordings) resulting in front cover editorial, reviews and airplay Pope Joan are perfectly poised to become ambassadors for this ground breaking new service.
To download their free promo track 'The Ground Is Shakey’ text: Shakey to 60444

Reaching out to over 70 million mobile phone users in the UK this is a self upload platform enabling the sale of songs to phones via SMS without the need of credit cards thanks to its revolutionary reverse billing system. With 30 days of service free with every upload the mobile track is live in minutes meaning labels can develop sales traction with no upfront costs or outlay.

Fans can buy music via SMS after seeing/hearing marketing prompts at gigs, on TV, radio, press, word of mouth, websites or printed flyers. A return text containing an internet link and promo code is then sent to the mobile phone. One click later the track is downloaded to the mobile or alternatively a promo code can be entered into the Music2Text website so a fan can retrieve the song via a PC.

The phone numbers for transactions are then captured creating a bespoke mobile database which labels can then use to create simple mobile strategies, viral campaigns and generate additional revenue. Labels can send SMS marketing messages and attach free or to buy tracks and drive extra traffic to any gigs, merchandise or online portals. Fans can reply to these messages and an RSS feed is then generated to power social networking or band websites. Music2text are also developing dedicated artist pages where fans can buy tracks direct and interact via the website, more details coming soon.

Music2texts automated royalty engine removes: 8% MCPS-PRS and mobile network charges from mobile transactions. The remaining net sum can be then paid directly into the label bank account which is under client control from a PC. There are no exclusive contracts to sign only simple 'pay as you go’ options that intergrate seamlessly into label budgets.
